A Personal Relationship With Jesus AND The Catholic Church.
In our relationship with God, we have an obligation; to be transformed into the likeness of Christ. But the joy that we receive from this relationship is greater than anything on earth, the knowledge of our salvation, and the desires of our heart.
The idea of a personal relationship with God should not be taken to mean a privatized faith. If we really took the idea of relationship seriously, we would recognize that faith understood as relationship needs to be both personal and social. A relational faith, by its very definition, is inherently social.
The love Jesus Christ gave to me is like the currency of God’s kingdom. And it is because of his selfless love that I think of my faith in Him as the act of holding out my hand in the darkness and allowing Him to hold me as I walk through life.
